Road Patching Programme

Mkhondo Launches a Road Patching Programme – Lately, a Bidvest vehicle could be seen in some streets in Mkhondo doing some very urgent and seriously needed repair work to our road surfaces.

The following press release was received by the Excelsior News, from the Mkhondo Municipality, regarding the mentioned repair work: “On Tuesday, the 6th of October, the Executive Mayor, Cllr B. H. Mtshali, MMC Cllr V.D. Nkosi, Ward Councillors and CDW’s were part of the launching of a road/pothole patching programme, which is sponsored by Gert Sibande District Municipality. The programme was handed over to Mkhondo Local Municipality, by David Madisa, Managing Executive at Bidvest Velocity, for the pothole repairs and general road maintenance.

The velocity machine will patch 6 700 square metres in the streets/ roads around eMkhondo town, Harmony Park, Retiefville, Kempville and eThandukukhanya. The estimated time for wrapping up the whole programme is three weeks, possibly, if there are no rain interruptions.” Thank you, Mkhondo Municipality, Gert Sibande District Muncipality, Bidvest Velocity and last but not least, all the workers who are toiling at finishing the programme as soon as possible.
