Mpumalanga 017 New CD

Mpumalanga 017 launched their new CD at Donkerhoek this past weekend.

Mpumalanga 017 is a traditional a capella band doing music similar to that of Lady Smith Black Mambazo. The group was founded in Donkerhoek and 90% of their members are from that farm. They have been in the music scene for more than ten years, but only released their first CD, called ZUL’OMNYAMA, in 2013. On Sunday, 18 October, Mpumalanga 017 launched their second album called SAWUBONA THOBEKILE.

The launch was done at EZakheni Boarding School, one of the biggest boarding schools in Mpumalanga and the students of the school were part of the launch. Members of the community of Driefontein, Donkerhoek Farm and neighbouring farms also attended. The group was also honoured to have, among other guests, Chief Shabalala from the KwaMadlangampisi tribal authority.

Congratulations on releasing your second album, Mpumalanga 017.
