In the Excelsior News of 22 May 2015, the story of the Jesus Hill with its “message on the mountain” was told. Many a tourist has noticed the said message when travelling between Mkhondo and Paulpietersburg.
The writing on the hill, which is the testimony of a man saved by the grace of God, has, however, become virtually illegible in the last few years. A group of people, together with the new owner of the farm, has decided to renovate the message – an enormous task. The past few Saturdays had men labouring there to build bridges over the erosion ditch at the foot of the hill, to ensure safe access to the terrain. Now the final phase is here!
A group of people will depart from the NG Church grounds (opposite Engen in Church Street) at 06:30 on Saturday, 10 October, for Arcadia farm. The cross, “Jesus Christ is Lord of all” and other Bible verses will be repainted there. Anyone, especially the youth of Mkhondo, who would like to be part of this wonderful event is welcome to join. Hot dogs will be served for lunch and water and cold drinks will be supplied as well. It is suggested that those who join in wear old clothes (preferably long pants) and old shoes. Also, bring a hat, rubber gloves, a small towel and sun screen, as well as some lotion or cream for your hands. Extra water and energy snacks will be very useful too. For more information contact John (083 980 1779) or Konrad (082 494 8671). Let us get the message of hope and salvation back on the “mountain” for all to see.
