Sibahle Primary Literacy Celebrations

September is National Literacy Month and there are many ways by which different people and organisations celebrate this month.

Sibahle Primary School saw it fit to have their celebrations well in advance on the 28th of August 2015. The learners at this school spent the day reciting poems and performing dramas in both English and IsiZulu. Not only were these recitals and dramatisations informative and entertaining, but they were a reflection of the amount of effort and dedication the teachers at this school put into educating the learners. The School Principal and the teachers also took the opportunity of rewarding learners that were the top achievers after the June results had become known.

The awards were issued to learners from grade R up to and including grade 7. Only one learner per class, per grade was considered for these awards. The awards were aimed at encouraging all the learners to work hard for the rest of this academic year, because there is still time even for those who did not perform to their optimum level, to pull their socks up and produce good results. The School Principal, Ms A.J. Mthembu (Ndlovukazi) wishes to thank the learners and the staff for all their hard work during the first half of the year. She further encouraged the relative parties to continue doing the best that they can so that they can produce excellent results also at the end of the year.
