OGA’s sport event for disabled people

At the end of February, members of the non-profitable organisation, One Goal for Amsterdam (OGA) hosted a sports event in which disabled members of the community also had the chance to participate.

OGA have yet again proven that the upliftment and development of rural communities within the Amsterdam area, is vital to them and they are truly making a difference in the lives of many individuals.

The event was held at the Sizanani S. Centre, which caters for disabled people and it focusses on sports activities in the daily routine of those living with disabilities. The participants had an opportunity to showcase their sporting talents.

A total of 15 eager participants took part in soccer, athletics, chess and the famous game of “morabaraba” (which is a wellknown traditional, two-player, strategy board game). All the competitors thoroughly enjoyed the event and were very grateful for the initiative. OGA would like to take this opportunity to thank their main sponsor, Vumbuka Trust, as well as local business owners of Amsterdam.

OGA can now confidently mention that with the help of their sponsors, this was only a first of its kind and the organisation is planning more events such as these in the future.
