Recycled Princesses. On the 9th of August Maranatha School hosted a Women’s Day Breakfast with a Cinderella theme.

What a treat to spend time with your fellow sisters in Christ! Desiré Voster truly inspired us to be women with purpose. She warned us not to listen to the lies that Satan and this world will tell us in order to break us. She encouraged us that our dreams are not too much and to not just hold onto the glass slipper that holds the potential for a dream come true, but to put it on and get up out of the pumpkin patch.

She reminded the ladies that God made us with a purpose in mind – so let’s live it! In Cinderella’s words, “Have courage and be kind!” Leandra Gevers entertained the crowd with some makeup tips, but more importantly, she reminded us that true beauty comes from within and that every lady is beautiful even without makeup.

We can be confident with or without makeup, because we were created beautifully. Mickey van der Westhuizen, a Kryolan representative, also came to tell us more about their products while Marisha Ehlers did a makeover in the background.

The ladies enjoyed playing ‘Fairy Godmother’. They had to design and make their own ballroom dresses – from plain old newspaper, tissue paper and a few sparkles, true magic was created! Cinderella taught us to use what we have, to do what we can, and be who God created us to be.

We would like to thank our guest speakers and all those who helped to make the day memorable. If you missed out on this year’s Women’s Day Celebrations, be sure to join us next year.
