TLC for Storm Water Drains

TLC for Storm Water Drains
A storm water drain, at the corner of Pretorius and Zuidend Streets, received some much needed “tlc” and the workers were busy cleaning more drains down the road

It has recently been reported that Mkhondo’s storm water drains are direful and urgently need attention.

The employers from Mkhondo Local Municipality’s roadworks department were spotted on Wednesday, the 19th of October, in Zuidend Street, where they were hard at work cleaning the storm water drains. The tender loving care came just in time, because of all the rain that was received on Thursday, the 20th of October, water could be lead away.

At least the rainwater could flow through the drains into the rivers and not go to waste in the streets due to blocked storm water drains. It seems that even though the drains are only being cleaned for now, they are closed off with red banner tape, so hopefully much needed repairs on the storm water drains will take place in the near future as well.

Thank you to the relevant employees and department from the Mkhondo Local Municipality for putting in an effort to clean up the town!
